The Senate Committee on Ethics, Public Petitions, and Conduct has recommended a six-month suspension for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, effective March 6, 2025. This decision follows a series of allegations and counter-allegations between Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Recommended Sanctions

The Committee's recommendations include:

- Six Months Suspension: Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan will be suspended from all legislative activities for six months.
- Written Apology: She must write a written apology before resuming her duties.
- Immediate Surrender of Senate Properties: She must hand over all Senate properties in her possession.
- Restrictions: She is barred from entering the NASS complex, presenting herself as a Senator to local and international media, and will have her salaries, allowances, and security details suspended.

These recommendations aim to address the allegations of misconduct and promote a more respectful and professional environment within the Senate.
