Rivers State Erupts in Chaos: Youths Torch Wike's Residence, Vehicles Amid Political Tensions
Rivers State is currently grappling with intense violence as angry youths took to the streets, setting fire to the residence of former governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. The protesters, expressing outrage over recent political developments, also torched several vehicles parked at the property.¹

Eyewitnesses report that the youths chanted slogans against Wike, accusing him of betrayal and political interference. The situation has escalated to the point where the youths have vowed to prevent Wike from returning to Rivers State.

To restore order, security forces have been deployed, but tensions remain high as more protesters gather in different parts of the state. This development comes on the heels of an earlier incident where supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara destroyed a statue of Wike in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
