INEC Provides Update on Recall Process for Kogi Central Senator

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that it has received the necessary contact information from the representatives of the petitioners seeking to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.

In a press release issued today, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, INEC stated that it has written to notify the Senator of the receipt of the petition, as required by the Commission's Regulations and Guidelines for Recall 2024. The letter has been delivered to the Senator's official address and copied to the presiding officer of the Senate.

The next step in the recall process will be to scrutinize the list of signatories submitted by the petitioners to verify that it meets the required threshold of over 50% of registered voters in the constituency.
