He emphasized the significance of such interventions in providing immediate relief and support to vulnerable groups, particularly in the face of ongoing economic challenges and global uncertainties.

According to Barr. Lawal, Governor Makinde conducted clearance operations in Oke-ogun on forest reserves and red flag points about six months ago to reduce insecurity to the barest minimum.

Calling on the good people of Oyo state particularly the royal fathers to collaborate with Oyo state government in the fight against banditry, illegal mining activities, banditry, among others in Orire, Irepo, Ibarapa, Saki East, and Saki west, the Deputy Governor noted that the Makinde administration will continue to prioritize the security of lives and properties.

He said: “This symbolic presentation is so important. The chairmen must involve everyone in the distribution template. Garri and maize have been sent for distribution.

“Oyo state government had earlier rolled out SafER to ameliorate the real challenges of poverty even before this intervention of federal government. And the government will continue to do so.

“In Fashola, we have large farm settlement to address food challenges and supply. Oyo state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Seyi Makinde is really addressing issue of food supply for its citizenry and it will blossom for the admiration of everyone.

“Again, we must inform the local governments chairmen that Oyo state government is watching you keenly for test of transparency and accountability.

“It is no gainsaying that the impact of the grains distribution will further cushion the effect of the economic recession in the Country. As a responsive Government that has resolved to channel all available resources towards improving the quality of life of its citizens, let me assure you that the distribution process has been. carefully designed to ensure that these commodities are given to vulnerable citizens who are in need through the constitution of committees at all the Local Government Areas in the State.

Ona Ara needs total overhauling - LG Chairman, Glorious

Ona Ara needs total overhauling - LG Chairman, Glorious

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS' has emphasized the need for investors from Ona Ara to come back home to develop the town to an enabling position with its abundant landmark and natural reasources.

Disclosing this on Friday when he hosted pressmen to a media parley at the local government secretariat, the Chairman noted that Ona Ara need a total overhauling for development.

He highlighted the challenges he had overcome in his first month in office, saying that the Council was in a complete state of disarray and that he had to clean up the environment, evacuate refuse from the entrance of the local government, as well as drafting environmental law to guide against indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

According to the Chairman, this law will help the people to work on a close circuit area to be keeping their refuse as government continue to make further provision against dumping on the roadside.

He added that part of his achievements was the introduction of traffic management law which the legislative arm of government is currently working on.

Dr. Temitope Glorious, who hinted that he’s a man of few words but achievements, however emphasised the importance of getting the secretariat up and running, which has enabled him to regularly resume office, hold meetings with community, associations, among others, as well as putting staff on their toes for effective delivery.

The Chairman stated that part of the issues facing the local government were the lackadaisical attitude of individuals cleaning the secretariat until action was taken to stop their salary.

He added that there is an ongoing reconstruction of the council reception to have a global outlook as soon as possible.

Narrating how he facilitated the magistrate court's return to Onaara from Iyaganku due to lack of maintenance, Hon. Glorious commended the Chief Judge of Oyo state, Justice Iyabo Yerima for her support, as well as Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi who equally volunteered to rebuild the court and now at the final stage of commissioning.

He added that about four magistrate courts would be commissioned as soon as possible which were part of his achievements in one month.

The chairman, who is similarly determined to transform Ona Ara local government into an estate, stated that Ona Ara will have a new look in a few months because he has worked to involve notable stakeholders, such as security agencies and traditional rulers, among others, to make sure the goal is realised.

He added that the local government is also making effort on downscaling of floods as he hosted NEMA and SEMA on Thursday to ensure that the people are safe during this raining season.

While the government is continuum, the chairman stated that he had inspected ongoing projects carried out by the local government, particularly the proposed market and would ensure its completion

He asserted that some ongoing road constructions by the state government are already completed as well as procuring materials for some communities which included a secondary school in Amuloko which is in need of a generator set.

“Our administration is keen on generating more revenues for the local government to ensure rapid growth and development within our 3 years in office”, he added.
