Hon. Akinpelu Afeez Akinkunmi Kure Wins Best Community Service Award at Oyo State Youth Summit 2025 - Tumite News

Emotions ran high as Hon. Akinpelu Afeez Akinkunmi Kure, Majority Leader of the House and Councillor representing Ward 02 in Ibadan South East Local Government, was announced the winner of the Best Community Service Award at the 2025 Oyo State Youth Summit held on April 30.

In a heartfelt message shared with his supporters and constituents, Hon. Kure expressed overwhelming gratitude and surprise at receiving the prestigious honor. “I’m still so shocked as I share this amazing news with you all!” he wrote. “I’m talking about tears of joy, shouting with excitement, and a heart full of gratitude.”

He reflected on a journey marked by perseverance and faith, acknowledging the challenges and doubts he faced along the way. “This award isn’t just about me—it’s about the power of not giving up, working hard, and trusting God,” he said.

Hon. Kure extended special appreciation to his family—particularly his wife—for their unwavering support, as well as to his friends, mentors, and community. He paid glowing tributes to Rt. Hon. Ayodeji Akande (ALA), the leader of the Ibadan South East Legislative Council and Chairman of the Oyo State Councillors Forum; his alma mater, Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School (OBA 2005); and the Ministry of Youths and Sports under Hon. Wasilat Adegoke.

He also acknowledged the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Makinde, and expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, Amb. Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, whom he described as a father figure and mentor. The award was dedicated to Amb. Arapaja in recognition of his guidance and influence.

“This moment feels so unreal… wow,” he said. “To anyone chasing a dream—keep going. I’m living proof that with hard work, determination, and a little bit of luck, anything is possible.”

The Oyo State Youth Summit continues to shine a spotlight on exceptional young leaders, and Hon. Kure’s recognition stands as a powerful inspiration for youth across the state.
