The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, has officially announced the Oyo State Youth Summit 2025 with the theme “Unlocking Youth Potential: Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams.” The summit is designed to empower and engage youths across the state on critical topics vital to their personal growth, development, and future opportunities.
Hon. Adegoke made the announcement today at a press conference organized by the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, held at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Secretariat, Ibadan.
According to her, the summit is scheduled to take place on April 29th and 30th, 2025, and will feature a rich lineup of activities. Day 1 will kick off with an awareness walk and sensitization campaign against drug abuse across five major zones in the state. Day 2 will be dedicated to plenary sessions, panel discussions, interactive skill development workshops, and will conclude with a special dinner and an award night. These events will be held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Hon. Adegoke emphasized that Governor Seyi Makinde will serve as the Chief Host of the summit, which promises to be a landmark gathering for youths from diverse background students, entrepreneurs, creatives, community leaders, and more.
She also revealed that the keynote speaker will be Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson, Managing Director of BOVAS Group, who will speak on Unlocking Youth Potential, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assemble, Rt. Hon. Dabo Ogundoyin and Chief (Dr.) Segun Odegbemi as Guest Speakers.
A distinguished panel of speakers, including Nollywood actor Mr. Ibrahim Chatta, academic and actor Dr. Afeez Oyetoro, entrepreneur Mrs. Adejoke Lasisi, tech innovator Mr. Joshua Oyeniyi, business coach Mr. Ayo Adams, and motivational speaker Arojinle, will share insights and experiences with participants.
