The Secretariat of the church headed by the Secretary-General, Special Apostle Ademola Odetundun, confirmed the development, saying that the Spiritual Father died Sunday morning at about 10:00 am at the age of 103 in his Ilorin home, the Kwara state capital.

Special Apostle Odetundun said that the late spiritual father had his breakfast, almost dressing up to prepare for service, when he said that he wanted to rest for a while.“He passed on peacefully, thereafter”, he said, adding that burial arrangements would be announced later.

It was also gathered that remains of the Spiritual Father had been taken to a mortuary in the state capital.

Talking about some of his achievements, some church members pointed at the movement of the seat of power of the church from Kaduna to Galilee, located in Orile-Igbon, Oyo state, “which has now become a mega city”.
Baba Aladura, Dr. Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye was born on June 26 as a Prince at Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State. His father was Odetundun Abegunde, who was Oba Olomu of Omu Aran, which was in Ilorin Province at the time. His mother’s name was Tinuade Tinuola, daughter of Niniola, a princess of Oponda in the present Isin Local Government of Kwara State.

He started schooling at N. A. Primary School, Omu Aran in May 1934. He lost his father on the Valentine’s day of 14th February 1938 which made the Lovers’ Day especially memorable to him personally. Around 1938, a Reverend Man of God, Senior Apostle Prophet Peter Oyinloye from Rore near Omu Aran, introduced Baba Samuel Abidoye to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church. Meanwhile, just as other converts in other folds, this new convert and others were made to memorize the catechism, which they had to recite before baptism. Thereafter, he was given the grace of seeing our Lord Jesus Christ in his dreams and in a trance in 1958

Carelessness, Red Card Cost us Victory Against Kwara Utd - Ogunbote

Carelessness, Red Card Cost us Victory Against Kwara Utd - Ogunbote
Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote believed his team would have picked the maximum points in Ilorin, but for carelessness and the red card issued to skipper Malomo Taofeek.

The Oluyole Warriors were at the verge of grabbing the three points against Kwara United, until the Harmony Boys levelled things up with a minute left to full time.

In his post match interview after the matchday eight clash played on Sunday inside the mainbowl of the Kwara State Sports Complex, the 3SC sweat merchant lamented the late equaliser conceded by his team and the expulsion of his player.

He however, expressed happiness that his team ended up picking a point from the encounter.

"Even despite playing with ten men, I just feel like we were a little bit careless, we had managed the game up till 90 minutes.

"But be it as it may, it's a consolation, it's okay, we never laboured in vain," stated the tactician who revealed that his target, coming into the match, wass to win.

"My target was to win, every coach's target is to win a game but you can see it, as a result of the red card, our target was a little bit shattered.

"You know Nigerian players, the moment a player gets red card, they tend to move back, thinking that it will affect them and I think this really affected us, but we are going to work seriously on this.

When asked about the magic behind his good run in Ilorin, he attributed it to hard-work, saying, "It is not magic, it is hard-work. what I aspire for is level playing grounds, so If I lose, I will know that I have not done enough.

"It is not peculiar with Ilorin, every match I play, until the end of the game, whether I'm winning, drawing or losing, my target is to win", said the Oracle, as the gaffer is fondly called.

Makinde's Jagunmolu's Title, Recognition Of Rare Courage, Resilience Against Antidemocratic Forces–Akeem Olatunji

Makinde's Jagunmolu's Title, Recognition Of Rare Courage, Resilience Against Antidemocratic Forces–Akeem Olatunji
The Chairmanship candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oluyole Local Government, Akeem Olatunji has said that the newly installed Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom, Governor Seyi Makinde only received recognition for his display of rare courage, selflessness and resilience against antidemocratic forces.

While congratulating the governor over his new coveted chieftaincy title, Olatunji noted that Makinde's contributions to deepening democracy and fight against injustice and inequality within the nation's political landscape.

The former Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo state made this known in a press statement on Sunday November 12.

He said Makinde's approach to governance and leadership which has continued to earn him accolades and recognitions both locally and internationally clearly espoused his depth of understanding of the political dynamics and the need to place the people at the centre of all government policies and programs.

In his words: "Our chieftaincy system intertwines traditional power structures with political dynamics and it allows traditional rulers to exert considerable influence over their domains which underscores the significance of Governor Seyi Makinde's Jagunmolu's title."

Recall that the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Adesinbo Kiladejo had on Friday installed Governor Seyi Makinde as the Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom in recognition of his contributions to deepening democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

Furthermore, Olatunji in his statement disclosed that "as a prominent figure within the Nigerian political and democratic system, Makinde's chieftaincy readily resonates across multiple spheres of south west politics.

"Firstly, it acts as a unifying force among different communities and ethnic groups which also foster cohesion and cooperation in an otherwise culturally diverse geopolitical zone.

"Additionally, the chieftaincy upholds cultural traditions and values that are integral to the identity of people within the South West who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields.

"We, the political disciples of Governor Makinde's Omititun political dynasty feel extremely privileged to be around this great man of immense intelligence and humane disposition to life. Being associated with him alone gives us leverage as his political followers even outside the shores of Oyo state and we pray for more of such highly coveted recognition.

Kwara Utd vs Shooting Stars: Oluyole Warriors Invade Ilorin for Harmony Boys

Kwara Utd vs Shooting Stars: Oluyole Warriors Invade Ilorin for Harmony Boys
Ogunbote Hopes for Level Playing Ground

A mouth watering clash is in the offing as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, tackles host, Kwara United FC of Ilorin, in a matchday eight encounter, billed for the Kwara Sports Complex.

The Ibadan soccer lords  hit the Kwara State capital in high sprit, fresh from last Sunday's 4-1 win over Niger Tornadoes, which they hope to consolidate on.
While the Oluyole Warriors will be gingered by the matchday seven victory, the Harmony Boys will in contrast, fight to return to winning ways having lost 0-1 to Enyimba in Aba.

Shooting Stars will also be bouyed by their good run over Kwara United in their meetings last  season, having forced the coach Kabiru Dogo side to.goaless draw in Ibadan, their (Kwara United) adopted home then, before securing a 1 nil win in Akure, courtesy of Akpan Joshua's late strike in Akure

Ahead of Sunday's game, Technical Adviser of 3SC, Gbenga Ogunbote, said his team will approach the encounter with the sole aim of getting something positive.

"It is another ball game and like I use to say, sometimes, it is difficult to predict the game, but we will go there to represent the club to the best of our abilities and then with good officiating, we should be able to come out with something positive," the Oracle stated.

AN HONOUR INDEED DESERVING OF AN INCLUSIVE AND PACESETTING LEADER - DIKKO FELICITATES WITH MAKINDE

AN HONOUR INDEED DESERVING OF AN INCLUSIVE AND PACESETTING LEADER - DIKKO FELICITATES WITH MAKINDE

I find it deserving and so I'm less taken aback that our father, the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, was conferred and installed as a ruler in Ondo State. This is because nothing is short of deserving for someone who hasn't just been an exemplary leader but one who stirs beyond the conservative tags of leadership to represent everywhere and everything he belongs to; it is undebatable that Governor Seyi Makinde represents everything the Yoruba race stands for and yet remains committed to national duties beyond racial affiliations. He is one who has several times taken actions against all odds to demonstrate impactful leadership.

Governor Seyi Makinde has not only risked his good standing with people, he has risked his office and position several times to ensure inclusion across all boards; gender, age, religion, politics, race and national duties. He is obviously a pacesetter in purposely governance.

He has in this passion for good governance fought valiantly against norms and popular culture to ensure a progressive and people centered governance.

He is therefore indeed worthy as the Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom as he has been conferred by the paramount traditional ruler of Ondo Kingdom, the Osemawa, Oba(Dr.) Victor Adesimbo.

I therefore congratulate His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde on this feat and pray that he receives help of the almighty to remain strong and valiant on this unpopular path of leadership he has chosen. I pray that this new feat will shower more blessings of the almighty on the people's Governor.

Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala moved a petition on behalf of Mr. Adebayo Olaide, a native of Ogbomoso, Oyo State on the floor of the House yesterday.

Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, Member House of Representatives representing Ogbomosho North, South and Orire Federal constituency moved a petition on behalf of Mr. Adebayo Olaide, a native of Ogbomoso, Oyo State on the floor of the House yesterday.
Mr. Adebayo was brutalized by the men of the Nigerian police force, Oyo State Command on the 25th of June, 2009, at Ayegbayun village, near Odo Oba, Ogooluwa L.G in Ibadan. This unfortunate incident led to a loss of sight in his left eye and bodily harm to his person.
In suit no: M/554/2011, between Mr. Adebayo Olaide v. Inspector General of Police and four others, and Appeal No CA/1244/2013 between the Inspector General of Police and four others v. Mr. Adebayo Olaide; the courts unanimously delivered judgment in favor of Mr. Adebayo Olaide. But quite disturbingly, Mr. Olaide has neither got justice nor compensation for the assault meted out to him.

It is disheartening that Mr. Olaide has continued to live with this disability for the past 13 years due to the unprofessional attitude of police officers employed to protect Nigerians. In addition, the noncompliance of the court orders is disrespectful and unacceptable.

As a Lawmaker, invested in justice and effective implementation of the law, I called on the House to wade into this case, by ensuring that the NPF respects court orders. While this may not restore Mr. Olaide’s sight, it is my belief that the award will go a long way in ensuring that he gets the justice that he deserves, while also setting precedence for like matters in the future.
