PMS Leadership in Oyo State: Evidence of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth - Bashorun Saint Abbey
PMS Leadership in Oyo State: Evidence of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth
A clear vision backed by definite plans gives a tremendous feeling of confidence. When Governor Seyi Makinde administration came up with the idea of Park Management System (PMS), some clowns disguised as the opposition called it audio initiative but for the first time in the history of Nigeria the PMS is proving to be one of the smartest ways for IGR.
Governor Seyi Makinde's administration is bringing the future of the state into the present, the way and manner Oyo governor made organisation of thoughts into ideas and plans are highly significant in Nigeria. It is evident that good transformation of those ideas into reality is showing in Oyo State.
PMS which is the acronym for the Oyo State Park Management System was initiated by Governor Makinde in Nigeria, towards the end of his first tenure of office, Governor Makinde assured Oyo State residents that his administration is set to improve transportation to meet up with the international standard.
The reality about transportation is that it is future-oriented. If we are planning for what we have, we are behind the curve and this is one of the reasons why Governor Seyi Makinde wants the future of the transport sector in the state to have a new touch.
When the Park Management System (PMS) was launched in Oyo State early in 2020, not many were willing to believe in the idea. Today, the PMS idea has become a toast of many states. Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo states have fully launched their versions of PMS, a clear vindication of Makinde as the man who saw tomorrow, as far as the management of the parks is concerned.
With the new leadership of PMS in Oyo State, headed by a gentle giant, Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa fondly called Tommy. It is the responsibility of his leadership to put a monitoring system in place, analyze the data that is being generated during the implementation and make any necessary changes to make the implementation more efficient. Omolewa has set benchmarks as well as key performance indicators that will enable him to operate effectively in the office.
The new park management committee in Oyo State has Baba Bola as secretary, and also includes Alhaji Tajudeen Jimoh, Deputy Chairman; Kamardeen Idowu, Oyo RTEAN Chairman as Treasurer; Tirimisiyu Olowoposi, Financial Secretary; Abass Amolese, Organising Secretary; and Alhaji Hamidu Mustapha Were, Auditor, with Alhaji Abideen Ejiogbe, First Vice Chairman; Ganiyu Mojeed, First Trustee; Alhaji Musa Alubankudi, Second Trustee, Alhaji Rahman Akinsola Tokyo, Second Auditor; and Alhaji Wasiu Emiola, Public Relations Officer.
These are men of experience in their chosen field, we now have a well-regulated system with chairmen, and unit heads who acted and controlled the activities of what goes on at the parks, and there is less violence in our parks with rules and regulations.
Any businessman will tell you that transportation is fundamental to success.
Kudos should be given to the Governor of Oyo State for having a good vision towards this sector, bearing in mind that modern terminals around the city have already made the state a beautiful outlook, provided jobs, solve the problem of insecurity, and boost the IGR of the state.
Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa-led committee has had a significant impact on the strategic management process of our parks, his experience will help him to determine the vision and mission of the park management system, and he will also use his wisdom to facilitate the committee members to execute effective strategies to achieve that vision.
While their activities are being monitored by the state government, the committee is also set to be a collaborator, risk manager, change driver, and decision maker, the government will be guide, change enabler, and evaluator.
It is evident that the new leadership of PMS under Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa is a body of responsible and law-abiding individuals committed to maintaining peace and order, residents of the state have also shown gratitude to Governor Makinde for fulfilling his promise on the leadership of PMS in Oyo State.
With the emergence of the new committee for the park management system, the IGR of the state will be improved, also there is full integration and interest protection among members of the transport union which has enhanced the customer/commuters journey with the provision of the unified procedure.
This new committee focuses on sound inspiration, creating sustainable and inclusive growth, featuring collaborative networks of self-managing teams that operate in rapid cycles and focus on creating value for the stakeholders.
Moving from an era of individual leaders to an era of networked leadership teams that will steer the PMS as the Governor suggested that a high-performing leadership team will always outperform the capabilities of individuals. This new committee under the leadership of Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa has a clear purpose and focus, to benefit all stakeholders by enabling people to work and learn together to build and operate a continually evolving system that will create value for the good people of Oyo State.

FG Approves Re-opening Of Seme Border For Vehicle Importation
Director of Road Transport in the Ministry of Transportation, Ibrahim Musa, said they decided to reopen the border following complaints by freight forwarders operating in the area.
The Tinubu-led federal government has approved the re-opening of the Seme border for vehicle importation.
Director of Road Transport in the Ministry of Transportation, Ibrahim Musa who made the announcement on Wednesday, June 21, during his speech at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) meeting organised between officials of Nigeria and Benin, said they decided to reopen the border following complaints by freight forwarders operating in the area.
Musa said;
“I was here with the former Minister of State for Transportation when the Freight Forwarders pleaded that the border should be reactivated for the free movement of goods and services.
“The former minister made us prepare a memo to that effect. It was considered and sent to the government.”
The Customs Area Controller of Seme Border Command, Dera Nnadi also said the service has noticed a reduction in its revenue since the importation of vehicles was banned from the land borders.
Nnadi said;
“The former Minister of Transportation, responding to some of our requests and from the stakeholders, promised to take them to the Federal Executive Council, FEC, one of them is how to fully open this border.
“The Ministry has informed us that the memo has been written to FEC and it was adopted and that it would be given to the new government, he assured us that all the requests were adopted.”
Labour fumes as RMFAC hikes politicians’ salaries
Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission has recommended an upward review in the basic salaries of political and judicial office holders.
The Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Muhammadu Shehu, who was represented by the RMAFC commissioner from Kebbi State, Mrs Rakiya Tanko-Ayuba, disclosed this on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, during the presentation of the reviewed remuneration package of political and judicial office holders to the state Governor, Dr Nasir Idris.
Commenting on the proposed salary increase, the organised labour described it as provocative because of the fuel subsidy removal pain Nigerians were going through.
The News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday reported that the reviewed salary required legislation by the national and state assemblies before its implementation.
According to NAN, the commission stated that the last review was done in 2007, which led to the 2008 Act on the remuneration of political office holders.
It stated, “The commission, having considered that the consumer price index of some selected ba upskets of commodities have collectively grown by an average of 371% from 2008 to 2022, the current annual basic salary of all categories of political, public and judicial office holders in the country is adjusted upward by 114 per cent. ”
The agency disclosed that it recommended that existing allowances of political office holders be maintained, while three new allowances were introduced for judicial office holders.
These include allowances for a professional development assistant, a long service allowance, and a restricted lifestyle allowance.
Legislative backing
The commission explained that the reviewed remuneration packages required “legislation by the National Assembly’’ for beneficiaries at the federal level and the Federal Capital Territory, while the review for those in states and local governments would need legislative backing by state assemblies.
It admitted that the review would lead to an increase in personnel cost of government at all levels, adding that the remuneration packages were inputs from workshops it held on February 1.
The commission further explained that the review was in line with the provision of Paragraph 32(d) of Part 1 of the Third Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Government (as amended).
It said: “It empowers the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission to determine the remuneration appropriate for political office holders, including the President, Vice President, governors, deputy governors, ministers, commissioners, special advisers, legislators and the holders of the offices mentioned in Sections 84 and 124 of the Constitution of the Federal Government.”
It said the last review of the remuneration was carried out in 2007, which culminated in the “Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) (Amendment) Act, 2008.
”Sixteen years after the last review, it is imperative that the Remuneration Packages for the categories of the office holders mentioned in relevant Sections of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) should be reviewed.
”Pursuant to the above, Your Excellency may please recall that on Wednesday, 1st February 2023, the Commission held a one-day zonal public hearing on the review of the remuneration package simultaneously in all the six (6) geo-political zones of the country.
” The exercise aimed at harvesting inputs or ideas from a broad spectrum of stakeholders.”
But commenting on the NAN report, the RMAFC Public Relations Officer, Christian Nwachukwu, in an interview with one of correspondent, said the rate of the salary increase had not been fixed.
‘No fixed rate yet’
He stated, “There is no authentic information on that (the rate) because it has to be forwarded, although we have done some things on it. There is no percentage we can say now. I am not aware of that.”
He said this in a response to media reports about the commission approving the increment of salaries of political office-holders, judicial and public office holders by 114 per cent
Efforts to get a comment from the RMAFC Chairman failed as he simply informed our correspondent that he was not in the country at the time we contacted him.
Commenting on the salary review, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Wednesday noted it would provoke Nigerians.
Speaking to our correspondent on the matter, a Vice-President of the TUC, Tommy Etim, said, “The increment is such that will provoke Nigerians seeing as Nigerians are already groaning under the effect of the subsidy removal among others. The TUC has always called for a reduction in the cost of governance. However, if they still go ahead with it, we are going to use that opportunity to table more allowances for the Nigerian people.”
On its part, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics described the proposed 114 per cent pay rise for elected politicians as provocative and insensitive.
The National President of the union, Dr Anderson Ezeibe, in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja, said, “ The report is provocative and insensitive. It is difficult to see the rationale behind such a move by the government in a country where the working class has been groaning under severe economic pains.
“While the staff unions in the tertiary education sector have been negotiating a wage increase with the government since 2017 and the government showing a lack of commitment to the process, the same government is busy awarding themselves such pay rise.
“The citizens are still suffering from the impact of the removal of subsidy on PMS, increase in electricity tariff and the attendant implications on their wellbeing only to see such “reward” which can only encourage opulence and oppression by the political class.
“It is an affront to Labour as the Labour movement is still trying to come to terms with the reality of the economic situation in the country and negotiating some palliatives from the same government. It is disappointing.”
Meanwhile, the organized Labour will again meet with the representative of the Federal Government on Monday, The PUNCH has learnt.
The meeting, according to information gathered by our correspondent, is a follow-up meeting to the one held on Monday.
A TUC Vice-President , Etim disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja.
The June 19 meeting was the fourth in a series of negotiations between the Federal Government and the organised labour since the removal of the fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu on May 29.
Speaking with our correspondent in Abuja, the labour leader said, “We have another meeting on Monday and it is a continuation of the former meeting. During our last meeting, the special adviser to the president on energy unveiled a roadmap but the terms of reference were not unveiled. So labour asked that it be shared so that we can also put in our inputs. We will also send a list of our members who will form part of the subcommittees of the main steering committee.”
FLASH: DSS Storms Suspended EFCC Chairman, Bawa’s Office, House, To Investigate Associates
The home and office of Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have been searched by agents of the Department of State Services (DSS).
This follows allegations of mismanagement, misappropriation, and diversion of proceeds from the sale of forfeited assets.
The suspended EFCC Chairman is currently in the custody of the DSS in Abuja, under investigation for alleged financial impropriety during his tenure as EFCC chairman.
Bawa was suspended indefinitely as EFCC chairman by President Bola Tinubu on June 14, and shortly afterwards, the DSS took him into custody.
According to reliable sources that spoke with Punch, DSS agents searched Bawa’s home in Gwarinpa, Abuja, in the presence of his wife and children.
An inside source revealed that DSS agents also searched Bawa’s office on the same day. They provided a search warrant for both locations.
The source stated, “DSS operatives stormed the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi on Saturday to search the office of the suspended chairman. But they presented a search warrant. Another set of DSS operatives also searched Bawa’s home in Gwarinpa, and they met his wife and children in the house during the search.
“Bawa’s close associates at the office were also invited for questioning this week, and they’re being probed on allegations of mismanagement, misappropriation, and diversion of proceeds forfeited assets sold under Bawa’s watch.”
However, an anonymous government source indicated that the DSS has not yet pressed charges against Bawa, as their investigation is ongoing.
“The DSS is yet to charge him to court because they’re still carrying out their investigation,” the source said.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the DSS has obtained an ex parte order to extend Bawa’s detention in their facility during their continued investigation.
A government source suggested that this move by the DSS is to deter Bawa from challenging his detention in court.

Makinde elevates Ladoja, 10 other Ibadan high chiefs to Oba
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the promotion of 11 Ibadan High Chiefs to beaded crown Obas.
The PUNCH had reported that the governor recently signed the Chieftaincy Amendment Bill into law seeking to grant him autonomy to present beaded crowns and coronets to chiefs in the state, following its passage by the state House of Assembly.
The High Chiefs are Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Olakulehin; Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rasheed Ladoja; Otun Balogun, Tajudeen Ajibola; Osi Olubadan, Eddy Oyewole; Osi Balogun, Lateef Adebimpe; Ashipa Olubadan, Biodun Kola-Daisi; Ashipa Balogun, Kola Adegbola; Ekerin Olubadan, Hamidu Ajibade; Ekerin Balogun, Olubunmi Isioye; Ekarun Olubadan; Bayo Akande and Ekarun Balogun, Abiodun Azeez.
An informed government source, who confided in our correspondent, on Wednesday, said the governor had given his consent to the promotion, and the high chiefs will be officially installed as traditional rulers, on Friday, July 7, 2023
It was further gathered that the governor’s approval was sequel to the recommendation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who is the prescribed and consenting authority.
The source said, “This elevation would have come earlier before now. Even before the administration of the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi. Ajimobi had a good intention on this elevation but the approach was wrong. Why would you just wake up one day and do something of such nature in just three days or thereabouts.
“You will be shocked when you see some Obas from other places who are not even up to High Chief in Ibadanland in a public place with a large entourage. But sometimes, our High Chiefs are regarded as mere chiefs. So, it’s a good decision and the governor has given his consent on that. They will be officially crowned on Friday, July 7, 2023 as stipulated in a letter sent to the governor by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Balog
un.”

GBOYEGA MAKINDE REMOVES TRACK SUIT FOR “BUBA AND SORO” AT 60.
I can’t believe that the time is finally here for Mr Charles Gboyega Makinde, the General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Ibadan, to retire from active service after serving the Oyo State Government meritoriously for thirty two consecutive years. There is no doubt that he will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends and associates at the Sports arena considering his numerous unquantifiable and unrivaled achievements in the recent past.
The good reasons why this multi-talented sportsman need to thank and appreciate Almighty God for his kindness and faithfulness are numerous. He was not disengage from the service on account of illness; death; compulsory retirement for misappropriation of fund and other criminal offenses. Rather, he left at the appropriate time when he attained the retirement age of sixty years. indeed, “The Lord makes everything beautiful in his own time”.
He has a deceptive appearance and outlook though he is a man that has uncommon physical strength and speed of endurance, but my first encounter with him depicted a man with militant mien and stern face which was typical of a force man preparing for the battlefield, but to my consternation his attitude and behavior changed my opinion of this meek, gentle, affable and agreeable sports personality whose approaches to issues of life are not only pleasing but simple.
Without being immodest, this dynamic and versatile sportsman has devoted all his lifetime to sports, he started as an athlete in 1976, he later participated in the under 17 Handball Competition during the Oluyole ‘79. He started his civil service career in 1991 as a Coach and later laterally converted to Sports Officer for the past thirty two years, he has served in various capacities in virtually all the directorates of the Council. It might interest you to know that he served as the Secretary of the Oyo State Football Association for many years and also as the Public Relations Officer of the Council.
He is dynamic and diligent while his commitment to duty stands him out among his contemporaries.
He is a “Stadium Person “ he spends his judicious and ample time in the Lekan Salami Sports Complex during the week and weekends. This distinguished gentleman is naturally endowed with biblical Solomonic type of wisdom to handle difficult situations, this unique quality manifested mostly in time of emergencies and crisis. Mankind is a very good crisis manager with potent and effective leadership skills.
A formidable sports administrator and all round sportsman who is an encyclopedia of knowledge. His subordinates testified to the fact that he has adequate knowledge of virtually everything that transpired in the Council since the yore days of Western States Sports Council. He fraternizes with the young and old with in the stadium for the over three decades.
To the best of my knowledge, having closely associated with him since I was deployed to serve in the Media and Communications Directorate of the Council, I can conveniently vouchsafe that whatever history that is narrated about the Sports Council by Mr Makinde is not only authentic but unquestionably reliable. No wonder most people refer to him to get facts and figures on Sporting activities in Oyo State. He is subtly referred to as the engine room of the Oyo state Sports Council, Ibadan.
There is no gainsaying the fact that his exit will create a vacuum that will be obviously difficult to be filled, not only for his apparent exemplary leadership qualities but his academic prowess served as an added advantage to leverage on the effective management of personnel, resources, challenges and the constraints of the Council.
In response to the question “How do you feel now that you are leaving the service of Oyo State? Mankind remarked that “I’m fulfilled with all the achievements recorded during my tenure through the divine guidance of God. By the grace of God; we have recorded remarkable and outstanding performances in the recent past. Oyo States came 7th during the National Sports Festival held in Abuja in 2018. We clinched 6th position during the Edo 2020 and 4th position at the Asaba 2022. It might also interest you to know that Oyo team came second in the First para games in Abuja. I am glad that we are consistently improving on our performances on yearly basis. To God be the glory “.
Question 2. What are your memorable events?
“ I will continue to remember my defense of budget at the pre-treasury board meeting whenever we are invited to justify our financial request on annual basis”
Question 3. What are the remarkable achievements of the Council?
“ Yes, our impressive and outstanding performance at the National and International tournaments”.
Question 4. What are the challenges the Council is confronting that are militating against her effectiveness?
“They are: inadequate funding, Transport, the council cannot boast of a functional official vehicle, dearth of equipments and state of arts facilities to train athletes and enhance their performances”.
Question 5. What do you wish to be remembered for?
“I came, I saw and I conquered “.
Question 6. What advice do you have for the upcoming athletes?
“They need to imbibe self discipline, dedication and commitment to duties. If they adhere strictly to all these, success is guaranteed for them”.
Question 7. Now that you are disengaging from active service, what is the next thing to do?
“I will seek for God direction, among several available options “
Question 8. Can you still come back to sing?
“Yes, why not? If I am invited to serve the State Government at a political level, I will not hesitate to honor such an invitation. I want you to know that a sportsman does not retire. We have seen instances where retired officers are offered appointments as Technical Advisers of teams; Team Managers; Coaches, Chairmen of Sports Council and Commissioners amongst others”.
Question 9. In your own opinion what are the practical steps that can be adopted to move the Council forward?
“Let me refer you to a documents that I carefully prepared in collaboration with the team of Management of this Council which I believe will not only serve effectively in moving the council forward, it will also function as a compendium of transformation. It was tagged “Game Plan” the strategic implementation programs identified were:
i) Government Funding
ii) Public Private Partnership Initiative
iii) Sports Corporate Endorsement
iv) Trust fund
v) Sponsorship Drive
vi) Recruitment of adequate skillful and qualified professionals staff to move the Council forward”
Question 10. What do you think the State Government can do to motivate and boost the morale of the staff to facilitate effective performance?
“The Government needs to ensure
i) Punctuality
ii) Professional and academic training like coaching courses, sports administrative program, Training and retraining Workshops and Seminars.
iii) Enforcement of Self discipline and respect of hierarchy in the public and civil service etc.
Question 11. Do you think the athletes and officials are adequately motivated in Oyo State?.
“To the best of my knowledge the state Government should be commended for the extrinsic motivation of athletes and officials especially in the area of monetary rewards but there is urgent need to give priority attention to the intrinsic motivation which includes provision of modern equipment and state of art sporting facilities, accolades , supplements like beverages etc. Motivation is higher these days but intrinsic aspect of the motivation should be accorded recognition “.
“MANKIND” is a multi-talented and all round athlete who plays round leather games. Badminton, Volleyball, Tennis but he is exceptionally good in Handball
His values are transparency, Liberalism and Tolerance. He loves reading intrinsic books as well.
“At my leisure time, I take delight in taking cold beer in company of friends, colleagues and associates. Once in a while I take chilled red wine and pepper soup”
By and large, he gives level playing ground and equal opportunities to all the members of staff of the Oyo State Sports Council. He despises ineptitude and lackadaisical attitude.
An opinion poll conducted for the staff of the Council revealed that Mr Gboyega Makinde is diligent, dynamic, industrious, intelligent, brilliant, bold, brave, resourceful, outspoken and creative but majority also remarked that he is temperamental and prone to annoyance. But, by and large, he is a gentleman of highest grade with good and excellent character. He is a man with a very large heart and he is innately good.
It has been a privilege to work with someone who is so passionate. I have only work with you for a short time but it is undeniable that your passion has positively influenced our programme and activities at the Sports Council.
Congratulations, cherish every moment of this time and revel in this new stage of your life. Happy Retirement
The man “Iroko” has gloriously retired from the active service of Oyo State, the rest is history.

EFCC Intercepts N32.4m Allegedly Meant for Vote-buying in Lagos
The massive operation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to deter vote trading and other financial malfeasance ahead of tomorrow's presidential and national assembly elections may have begun paying dividends with the interception in Lagos of the sum of N32, 400,000 (Thirty-two Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira) allegedly suspected to be used for vote buying in Lagos. The recovery was made by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Commission.
The suspect involved has been taken into custody for further questioning.
The Chairman of the Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has implored all personnel of the Commission deployed for election monitoring duties to show courage and not give room for unscrupulous persons to undermine the integrity of the elections through financial inducement.

Labour Party kicks as INEC omits party logo on Lagos ballot paper
The Labour Party, LP, has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for omitting the party’s logo on Lagos State ballot papers for the Saturday election.
Recall that INEC had on Wednesday taken delivery of sensitive materials for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections scheduled for Saturday, February 25.
LP Chairman in the State, Dayo Ekong, who decried the exclusion of the party’s logo on Senatorial and House of Representatives ballot papers in a statement on Thursday, called on the INEC to either correct the mistakes or reschedule the National Assembly election.
While calling on INEC to either correct what she described as an anomaly, she said, ”As Nigerians prepare to go to the polls to vote a new president and members of the Senate and House of Representatives on Saturday, the LP is decrying the flagrant exclusion of its National Assembly candidates on the ballot papers.
“This malicious ‘error’ was found out in Lagos this morning during the routine inspection of election materials by my executive members. It was at inspection that it was discovered that the L P was not listed for the election for the Senate and House of Representatives. This is unacceptable and a wicked way of disenfranchising Lagos State electorates.
“It is unimaginable that the Lagos electorate will only vote for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate for the elections slated for Saturday, Feb. 25, as INEC made no provision for the election of the Party’s Senate and House of Representatives Candidates. We cannot accept this as we do not believe that INEC made a mistake but rather a deliberate, malicious and intentional act to disenfranchise our supporters from exercising their civic rights, which is unacceptable.
”Further checks on the INEC website revealed that the names of Lagos LP candidates were not uploaded even as the list and court orders for the same were duly submitted to INEC and acknowledged. We have severally pointed out the bias displayed by the State INEC REC towards our Party and his increasing attacks on our leaders.”
The party, however, called on all stakeholders, lovers of democracy, foreign observers and the international community to quickly wade in.

JUST IN: #CBN Releases Guidelines For Feb 17 Deadline For Old Naira Notes—-
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has informed citizens that there will be no cash swap for old notes in any financial institution.
The CBN already declared the old N200, N500 and N1000 are no longer recognized as legal tender, despite a Supreme Court ruling.
The apex bank on Tuesday released the guidelines for deposit of old notes at any of its branches across the country from February 15 and 17.
CBN explained that in exchange for the old notes, the bank account provided by the depositor will be credited after scrutiny.
“You will not be issued new notes; instead your bank account will be credited after your account is validated by law enforcement,” it said.
Noting that the process may take up to four weeks, the guideline said the deposited notes will be withheld if validation of the owner’s account turns out negative.
Also, deposits by a third party are not allowed; the account information provided must be that of the depositor.
Account owners are required to complete an online application form and generate a reference number before heading to the CBN.
In a case where a customer did not pre-fill their form, he/she will be given the opportunity to fill the form at the branch.
Requirements are the reference code generated from the CBN portal, an active bank account, Bank Verification Number, BVN, and a valid government identity card.
The advice added that the Cash Deposit Window is open to the public from today until Friday between 9am to 2pm daily.
