On Tuesday 18th June 2024, there was a news in circulation by latest news, which published that ward 7 In Ibadan North East Local Government rejected Akintayo's Rice,

There is no iota of truth because the Ward Councilor, Hon. We also spoke with the Ward 7 Chairman in person of Chief Adeoba, he said he was surprised when some people called him that they read a news that Ward 7 rejected Akintayo's Rice, he said he even asked which ward 7 are they referring to because there is nothing of such and he also stressed that all Ward Chairmen was carry along by Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo about the ward sallah gift and also emphasize that they received the rice on Saturday, so he implore the good people of Ibadan North East Local Government and Oyo State at large to disregard any such news or information, that this kind of rumor is the handwork of the opposition that want to destroy the good image of our party.

We spoke with The Leader of the house, Ibadan North East Legislative Council, Hon Abdulmajeed Adekola Igbalajobi in which he clarify that all the Councilors and the ward chairmen were carried along by Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (The Executive Chairman, Ibadan North East Local Government) and no ward was left out and all the ward received their sallah package on Saturday, so any one spreading such mischievous news can be categorized as an antagonist of a good governance

Speaking at the final funeral for late Oba Lekan Balogun, Makinde who revealed that his nomination has been approved, said that formal installation would hold when the old man is strong enough.

Makinde stated that himself and the late monarch were able to achieve the ‘impossible’ in the history of Oyo state by successfully amending the Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration Law which is now in full effect with the cooperation of the state House of Assembly in 2023.

“Myself and kabiyesi, we amended Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration. Those who haven’t seen it, let them go and look for it, that is the Declaration in force to enthrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“I have seen the recommendation of the Olubadan-in-Council and I have accepted it. I have accepted it and we will, as soon as our father, Oba Olakulehin is strong enough, he will be enthroned becauee due process has been followed.

“I want to once again thank you all. To the family, it is we all that lost Baba, but we take solace in the fact that Baba lived a fulfilled and eventful life.”

In their separate tributes to the late monarch, the representative of the family of the late Olubadan, Senator Kola Balogun, and the President General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Sulaiman Ajewole appreciated governor Makinde for his support to the family, for honouring late Oba Balogun and for the completion of the Olubadan palace.
