In a resounding acknowledgment of his exceptional leadership, Oyo State’s foremost disability advocate, community organizer, and sports administrator Amb. Olusegun Abayomi Oyedeji extends his commendation for Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State who was awarded the prestigious title of "Governor of the Year 2023." 

The recognition comes from various quarters, including importantly the Disability Stalwart and Sports Administrator of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

Mr. Oyedeji, a prominent advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and a key figure within the Oyo State PDP, lauded Governor Makinde for his commitment to inclusive governance. In a statement issued yesterday, Ambassador Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi praised the Governor's unwavering dedication to the well-being and empowerment of citizens with disabilities.

"Governor Makinde's tireless efforts to create an inclusive society and uplift the marginalized, particularly people with disabilities, have not gone unnoticed. His policies and initiatives reflect a deep understanding of the challenges faced by this community, and his commitment to addressing them is commendable," remarked the Disability leader.

In addition, the Makinde-led administration has injected funds into the Oyo State economy by regularly and consistently paying the salaries of the state workers and pensioners, including hundreds of people with disabilities who were employed and inducted into the State Teaching Service Commission upon the Governor’s assumption of office.

Ambassador Olusegun Abayomi Oyedeji, the Disability Stalwart further highlighted Governor Makinde's initiatives aimed at improving accessibility, healthcare, and educational opportunities for people with disabilities across the state. The Governor's strategic focus on creating an enabling environment has garnered widespread approval, contributing to his recognition as Governor of the Year.

The award ceremony, attended by dignitaries and leaders from various sectors, celebrated Governor Makinde's achievements in governance, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs. 

The Disability Stalwart's commendation adds a significant voice of support, recognizing the governor's efforts in promoting inclusivity and equality for all residents of Oyo State.

As the news of the award reverberated 

across the state, Governor Makinde continues to receive praise for his visionary leadership, setting a high standard for governance in Nigeria. Ambassador Oyedeji noted that it is, therefore, not surprising that a United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) research ranked Ibadan as the second fastest-growing city in Africa. Industrialisation, urbanisation, inclusion, and economic activities were cited as reasons for the growth of the largest city in the state

Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi, a Strong voice in Oyo State Disability community and a prominent figure and advocate for community development, has called on the residents of Oyo State to steadfastly support the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde. Recognizing the notable strides made under Governor Makinde's leadership, Oyedeji emphasized the importance of Disability inclusion, unity and collaboration in sustaining the positive trajectory of the state.

Hon Aikomo Oluwafemi Emmanuel, FCA Hails from Fiditi in Afijio local government area, Oyo State. Hon. Olufemi Aikomo is a humble man, cultured and also a grassroot politician.

Hon. Olufemi Aikomo is a chartered accountant, He is the chairmanship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the Afijio Local Government in the 2024 local government elections.

Hon.Aikomo was born on January 24, 1966 in Fiditi, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State. He attended Alafia Oluwa Baptist Primary School, Fiditi and Community High School, Fiditi for his primary and secondary education respectively. He proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1993. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

Hon Aikomo is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate Chartered Tax Practitioner (ACTN). He has over 25 years of experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management. The payment started last year October, November December 2023, till January, February 2024 yet, no Month had gone without pay. Guess what? Just few weeks ago, Gov. Makinde, the Man Called MAKINSSON approves the wage award extension by Six months which no Governor had done even federal govt under President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR had fulfil all righteous like Seyi.

Today, Mr Governor walked in to join the protesters, sympathize and empathize with them on the state of economic impact in our land causing Hunger, Anger as well generating into hardship for all. Assured that, all restitution, list of request on how our state can be economical independent, stimulating the resources to expand the economy and to bring back the normalcy to our land, Oyo State Nigeria should be brought to his table for way forward deliberation.

Ahead of the April 2024 Local government election in Oyo state, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola has donated campaign materials to Afijio PDP Chairmanship candidate Hon. Aikomo Emmanuel Olufemi, FCA and his Vice Hon. Adegoke Tajudeen Aderemi. 

Two thousand pieces of posters were presented by Hon. Adewusi to the PDP candidates on Saturday 10th February, 2024. 

While presenting the posters, Hon. Adewusi seized the opportunity to appeal to all residents in Afijio local government area to vote for all PDP candidates.

He equally appreciated the party leaders in the local government area particularly Chief Sunday Ogunlade for his exceptional leadership and fatherly roles in providing adequate supports for the party candidates ahead of the election. 

The gesture was lauded by the Oyo State PDP State Deputy Chairman Hon. James Olukunle, and he described Adewusi Adegbola as a committed party man who is so much concerned about the success of the PDP candidates. 

He further called on other party members to emulate the gesture of Hon. Adegbola Adewusi in order to ensure total victory for the party candidates during the election.

In their appreciation, The chairmanship candidate and his Vice expressed their sincere gratitude to Hon. Adewusi for his thoughtfulness and support for the coming election.

Hon. Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi spoke with the South West Oyo State disability community about the significance of the 2024 Southwest LG Election. At UMC Primary School, Molete, Ibadan, the Deaf leader and administrator delivered a compelling message to party members about the coming election and the role of people with disabilities in ensuring PDP victory and shared prosperity. 

From Ibadan South-West LG Areas 1 to 12 ward, the community leader emphasised the importance of collective effort and charged party members and people with disabilities to actively contribute towards the success of the PDP in the upcoming local government elections. He reminded the people of the reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde and urged them to do the same for the coming Southwest LG election across wards. 

He thanked them for joining him yesterday 24th of February 2024 to discuss a topic that is close to his heart and crucial for the democratic fabric of our society - the importance of ensuring that every voice is heard, regardless of ability. Hon. Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi addressed the vital role that individuals with disabilities play in shaping our society’s future through the power of their vote.
