Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th president of the United States, defeating Vice President, Kamala Harris in tight race.
This victory marks Trump’s return to the white house after losing his reelection bid in 2020 making him the first US president since Grover Cleveland to serve two non-consecutive terms.
Trump’s comeback was made possible after a fierce and contentious election cycle which saw him overcome numerous challenges including several high-profile legal battles and even two assassin attempts.
