The Guild of Directors (TGD) recently hosted a successful two-day annual event in Ibadan, bringing together industry professionals to celebrate the progress of film directing in Nigeria. Olumide Mide Moradayo, a notable member of the Guild, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s program, highlighting the importance of staying proactive and focused on the growth of the profession.
Moradayo also recognized the significant contributions of Otunba Bolaji Amusa JP, the Global President of TAMPAN, for his continuous efforts to raise the standard of Nigerian cinema. He extended his appreciation to Ambassador Titi Jeje TGD Chairman, the host of this year’s event, and Yeye Bose Akinola, the Governor of TAMPAN in Oyo State, for their dedication to the industry.
The event, held on September 19 and 20, began with the TGD Interstate Film Competition at Viva Cinema inside ShopRite, Ring Road, Ibadan. Day 2 featured the TGD CPE (Continuous Professional Education) Program at the Wole Soyinka Theatre Hall, University of Ibadan, where industry professionals engaged in discussions on the latest trends and advancements in film direction. The event concluded with the Award and Cultural Night at Darnest Hotel, Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, where industry achievers were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to film.
This annual event served as a vital platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and recognizing the continuous growth of Nigerian cinema.
