Chief Babatunde Ologburo and His Philanthropic Act', Offers Valuable lessons for Governance— By IJOBA AUTHORITY MOE

Chief (Alh) Babatunde Ologburo is renowned not only for his business acumen but also for his exceptional philanthropic endeavors. His contributions to society through numerous charitable activities have set a high standard for what it means to give back to the community. He is such an individual who believes that, if God has helped you, help others too in return as a means of giving back to the society. His philanthropic gestures are not just acts of charity but are well-thought-out initiatives (e.g myself in person as a living testimony) aimed at creating lasting impacts. These initiatives serve as an exemplary model that can be emulated in governance to achieve sustainable development and societal well-being.

One of the most notable areas of Chief Ologburo's philanthropy is education. Understanding that education is the cornerstone of development, he has invested significantly in this sector. He has established several scholarship programs for underprivileged students, enabling them to access quality education from primary to tertiary levels. These scholarships have not only alleviated the financial burden on families but have also empowered young individuals to pursue their academic and professional dreams.

Chief Ologburo's philanthropy extends to the healthcare sector, where he has made significant strides in improving access to medical services. He has donated generously to hospitals and clinics, facilitating the acquisition of modern medical equipment and the improvement of healthcare facilities. His contributions have enhanced the quality of care provided to patients.

In addition to supporting healthcare institutions, provides Ologburo has organized and sponsored numerous medical outreach programs. These programs provide free medical services, including consultations, treatments, to underserved communities. By addressing the healthcare needs of the less fortunate, he has helped bridge the gap between the wealthy and the poor, promoting health equity and well-being.

Chief Ologburo believes in the power of economic empowerment as a tool for societal transformation. He has initiated several programs aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance among youths and women. Through vocational training, and business development workshops, he has equipped many individuals with the skills and resources needed to start and sustain their businesses.

His economic empowerment initiatives have not only created job opportunities but have also stimulated local economies. By fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, Chief Ologburo has helped reduce poverty and improve the standard of living for many families. His efforts exemplify how targeted economic interventions can lead to Sustainable Development.

Beyond specific sectors, Chief Ologburo's philanthropy encompasses broader community development efforts. He has funded infrastructure projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, and community centers. These projects have enhanced connectivity, improved living conditions, and fostered social cohesion within communities.

Chief Ologburo has also been a strong advocate for environmental sustainability. He has supported initiatives aimed at environmental conservation, eco friendly project, waste management, and renewable energy. His commitment to preserving the environment for future generations underscores the holistic nature of his philanthropic approach.

**A Model for Governance**

Chief Babatunde Ologburo's philanthropic gestures offer valuable lessons for governance. His strategic approach to giving—focusing on education, healthcare, agribusiness, economic empowerment, and community development—demonstrates how targeted interventions can create lasting positive impacts.

Moreover, Chief Ologburo's philanthropy underscores the importance of public-private partnerships. By collaborating with government agencies, private sector entities, and non-governmental organizations, he has maximized the reach and effectiveness of his initiatives. This collaborative approach can be replicated more in governance to leverage diverse expertise and resources for comprehensive development.

As I round off, as part of his philanthropic gesture beneficiary, Chief Babatunde Ologburo's stylistic philanthropic gestures are worthy of emulation in governance. His unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others through education, healthcare, agribusiness, economic empowerment, and community development serves as a blueprint for achieving Sustainable Development and Societal Progress.

By adopting similar principles and approaches, governments can enhance their capacity to serve their citizens and build a more equitable and prosperous society.

National Assembly members approve singing of old national anthem

National Assembly members approve singing of old national anthem

Members of the joint session of the National Assembly sang the old national anthem, ‘Nigeria, we hail thee’ for the first time at the marking the Silver Jubilee of Nigeria’s 4th Republic.

The singing commenced after the President signed the National Anthem bill 2024 into law, and spoke to the members of the National Assembly.

The Senate and the House of Representatives had previously passed the legislation to replace the national anthem from “Arise, O Compatriots” to “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” at separate sittings.

Here are the stanza of Nigeria We Hail Thee:

Nigeria, we hail thee,

Our own dear native land,

Though tribe and tongue may differ,

In brotherhood, we stand,

Nigerians all, and proud to serve

Our sovereign Motherland.

Our flag shall be a symbol

That truth and justice reign,

In peace or battle honour’d,

And this we count as gain,

To hand on to our children

A banner without stain.

O God of all creation,

Grant this our one request,

Help us to build a nation

Where no man is oppressed,

And so with peace and plenty

Nigeria may be blessed.
