In response to community complaints regarding unsanitary practices, the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has ordered the immediate closure of Adeyemo Filling Station.
A team of Environmental Health Officers from Ona Ara Local Government, led by the Director of Environmental Health Services and Diseases Control, Sanitarian Popoola Rasidat Omowumi, and the Deputy Director of Environmental Health Services, Sanitarian Jimoh Sikiru, visited the location. This swift action was in direct response to reports from community members about the discharge of activated fecal matter into the neighborhood and adjoining road. Such practices pose a significant risk of cholera outbreak and spread within the local community and the entire Ona Ara Local Government area.
Action Taken: Given the urgency of the situation, Adeyemo Filling Station has been sealed. The closure will remain in effect until the identified health hazards are fully addressed and the site meets the satisfactory conditions as determined by the Environmental Health Officers.
Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS emphasizes the local government's commitment to public health and safety, ensuring that all establishments adhere to strict sanitary standards to prevent health crises.
